Privacy notice — Darul Falah Funeral Services

Who we are

Darul Falah CIC is a community interest company. This page explains how Darul Falah uses the information you give us when you submit a Funeral Services registration request through this website.

What information we collect

When you submit the Funeral Services registration form, Darul Falah collects:

  • your full name
  • your phone number
  • your email address (if you provide one — it is optional)
  • your preferred contact method (phone, email, or either)
  • the number of people in your household
  • your postcode or city
  • the service region your registration is for (currently the United Kingdom only)
  • the package you are interested in (Standard or Extended Funeral Support)
  • the mosque or community connection you mention (if you provide one)
  • a short description of why you are getting in touch (if you provide one)
  • your acknowledgements that you understand how your information will be used and that submitting the form does not guarantee approval, financial support, or any specific outcome

Darul Falah also keeps an internal-only reference number and the date and time of submission so that the registration can be located again.

Please note: Please do not include bank details, medical records, identity documents, or other highly sensitive information in the registration form unless Darul Falah specifically asks for it later.

Why we collect this information

Darul Falah uses the information you provide to:

  • read your registration request,
  • contact you to discuss it where needed,
  • decide whether Darul Falah Funeral Services can help under Darul Falah’s rules and within the resources available, and
  • keep an internal record of the request and the outcome.

Lawful basis

Darul Falah relies on legitimate interests to receive, review, manage, and respond to Funeral Services registration requests, and to keep an internal record of requests and decisions. These interests are to operate the Funeral Services process, respond to community requests, and manage Darul Falah’s internal decision-making responsibly.

We will keep this wording under review as the Funeral Services process develops.

Who sees your information inside Darul Falah

Your registration is read by authorised Darul Falah representatives and, where needed, by the committee that decides Funeral Services requests. Other people inside Darul Falah do not see your record.

Sharing outside Darul Falah

Darul Falah does not sell your information. Darul Falah does not share your information with anyone outside Darul Falah for advertising, marketing, or unrelated purposes. Information may be shared outside Darul Falah only where Darul Falah is required to by law (for example, in response to a lawful request from a regulator or court).

How long we keep your information

Darul Falah keeps registration records for as long as is needed to handle your request and to keep an internal record of decisions made. Final retention periods are still being agreed by Darul Falah and may change once the rules are formally approved. Until then, records are kept cautiously and only for as long as is reasonably needed.

Submitting a Funeral Services registration request does not guarantee approval, financial support, or any specific outcome.
